The Lexercise Clinician Qualification Test consists of two separate test out exams: the Course 1 Test Out Exam and Course 2 Test Out Exam.  These are tests of the knowledge and skills needed to deliver structured literacy (aka, Orton-Gillingham) therapy. Each Test Out Exam costs $25, for a total of $50 for both.

The questions are in two categories:

  • The structure of written English (including terms and concepts related to the structural elements of spoken and written words and sentences);
  • Principles of multisensory, structured literacy (aka, Orton-Gillingham) therapy.

These two topics are covered in our Professional Education Courses, Course 1: The Structure of Written English and Course 2: Multisensory, Structured Literacy Intervention.

Our goal in this qualification process is to be sure you have what you need to use the Lexercise platform to help students improve their reading, spelling and writing skills. (But don't worry! Should you score less than 80% on either qualification test we'll help you develop the skills you need. Our goal is to be sure you have what you need to succeed!).  

If you score 80% or higher on both the Course 1 and Course 2 test out exams, or if you successfully complete those two online courses, you will be invited to complete the steps to teletherapy partnership described here.

Once you register for either of the test out exams, you will have 3 days to complete the exam.  With that in mind, we suggest that you access the free study guide in advance of registering for the test out exams. Our policy is to accept only one attempt for each test out exam; registering with multiple email addresses will be detected and only your first attempt will be accepted.

This is the test out exam for Course 1: The Structure of Written English. It costs $25 and should take no more than 1 hour to complete. Once you register for the test out exam, you will have 3 days to complete it.  Please note, however, that once you begin the exam itself, you must complete it within one hour. 

Our policy is to only accept one attempt at this course test out exam.

If you get 80% or higher, you test-out of Course 1 and qualify to take Course 2.

This is the test-out for Course 2: Multisensory, Structured Literacy Intervention. It costs $25. Once you register for the test out exam, you will have 3 days to complete it, however once you begin the exam, you will have 45 minutes to complete it and submit your answers for grading.

If you get 80% or higher, you test out of Course 2 and qualify to move forward in the process of working as a Lexercise clinician. 

Our policy is to accept only one attempt at this exam.

The successful completion of Course 1 or the Course 1 Test Out is a prerequisite to this test out exam. So, if you have done this, all you need to do to get started is to log in and make payment with a credit card.
